If you love a good picture book then why not share it with others?
The power of illustrations is the focus of National Share a Story Month organised by The Federation of Children’s Book Groups. www.fcbg.org.uk
Readers have told me how much they enjoy the vibrant illustrations by Catalina Echeverri in the Granny Mutton yarn series and at events I love to see children create their own pictures and works of art of Granny and Little Lionel.
Part of the aim of Share a Story Month is to encourage youngsters to draw and illustrate their own stories and appreciate pictures in museums and galleries.
So whether old or young, why not sit down with a good picture book or two and spot the wonderful quirks an illustrator adds to bring the words alive?
