Festival Fun

I recently attended the Felixstowe Book Festival where I provided story time entertainment for some enthusiastic children in the town’s lovely airy library.

I followed it up by attending one of the many other weekend author events, pottered in the town’s bookshops and indulged in some tasty cakes in a local tearoom – all this with the added bonus of being by the seaside.

Festivals are a great way to discover new authors and books. Hearing an author talk about their characters and writing habits gives you a new dimension to their novels. Such events might also lead you to add a different book genre to your normal reading matter or encourage you in your writing endeavours.

There are festivals across the country almost every month of the year. So if you haven’t tried one why not give it a go – but warning, attend too many and you might not have enough time for actual writing!
